Intervjuu fitnessblogija Merilin Taimrega

Hiljuti postitas fitnessblogija Merilin Taimre oma blogisse "Paljas Porgand" postituse, milles käsitles põhjalikumalt keskkonna teemat. Postitust saad lugeda SIIT .

We did it! First workshop! / Ära tegime! Esimene esitlus!

Today, we had a workshop at Tallinn's Arte Gymnasium, where kids from the 3rd grade participated. We thought, that we wouldn't fill in the time, it wouldn't be interesting for the kids, we would mess up etc. To our surprise, it went extremely well. Kids were always asking questions (pretty clever ones!), they were listening and in the end they said they really liked it!  The only problem seemed to be lack of room. Now we know, that for the next workshops we will ask about it beforehand.  Also, we planned on playing a game in the tablet, but we cancelled this, because we had an opportunity to play the game more interactively. Turned out, that kids really wanted to use tablets, so for the next time we will not be crossing these out.  Täna oli meil esimene esitlus Tallinna Arte Gümnaasiumis, kust võtsid osa kolmanda klassi õpilased. Alguses arvasime, et aega ei saa täis, see on liiga igav, meil läheb midagi valesti jne. Meie üllatuseks läks meil tõeli...

Ragn-Sells Visit/ Ragn-Sellsi külastamine

Image
Today, the five of us went to Ragn-Sells to learn more about recycling. Ragn-Sells is the biggest recycling center in Estonia. They recycle more than 95 types of materials. Most of the things recycled turns into energy and they also turn them into new materials to use for new objects. We saw the paper recyling station and the household waste station. We learned many facts, and we think these are really important to know: When you are recycling, you might be doing some things wrong. For example,  when you leave product in the packaging, it can't be recycled. What you can do is to simply wash the packaging.  Something so simple makes a huge difference.  Did you know, the zinc in emty batteries are used in cosmetics and solar creams?  Car tire dust is used in eyebrow products. Waste management companies don't look into the huge black bags, because they can't see what's in them. It can be dangerous for them because of the liquids, needles etc.  Household wa...

Are you recycling the right way?/ Kas sa taaskasutad õigesti?

Image
We all know, that recycling is good for the environment. The less we produce and waste, the more we can spend time on this planet, right? Since recycling is a necessity we got to make sure to do it the right way. Check out the tips below and find out, if you've been recycling the right way! Never put your recyclables in a plastic bag Don't undo all of your hard work by putting recyclables into a plastic bag. Plastic bags are not recyclable and may be dangerous, since workers sort the waste by hands. So even if inside the bag are recyclables, the bag is still removed.  You couldn't recycle a pizza box even if you wanted to Although pizza boxes might often display recycling symbols, they still might not be accepted in the recycling centre. The reason comes down to the grease. Since the cardboard can absorb liquids really easily, the grease quickly makes the pizza box unrecyclable. Most of our milk cartons and juice boxes aren't recyclable Although these c...
